Privacy-first clipboard sync

Built from the ground up to keep your data off the cloud and on your devices.

No Cloud, No Servers

Your clipboard data never leaves the direct connection between your devices. Zero servers, zero accounts, zero tracking.

BLE-Only Transfer

Data travels over Bluetooth Low Energy — no WiFi or internet needed. Works anywhere, even offline.

AES-256-GCM Encryption

Every transfer is encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Keys are exchanged during pairing and never leave your devices.

Automatic Mac → Android Sync

Copy on your Mac and it appears on your Android instantly. No buttons to press, no extra steps.

Frequently asked questions

Is my clipboard data sent to any servers?
No. ClipRelay uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for a direct device-to-device connection. Your clipboard data never touches a server, cloud service, or the internet. It goes straight from one device to the other.
How secure is the encryption?
ClipRelay uses AES-256-GCM encryption — the same standard used by banks and governments. Encryption keys are exchanged during the QR code pairing process and are stored locally on your devices. They are never transmitted or stored elsewhere.
What is the range?
BLE typically works within 10-15 meters (30-50 feet) depending on your environment and devices. It works best when devices are in the same room, which is the typical use case for clipboard sharing.
What types of content can I sync?
Currently, ClipRelay syncs plain text content. This includes URLs, code snippets, passwords, addresses, and any other text you copy. Rich content support (images, files) is planned for a future update.
Does it work without WiFi?
Yes! ClipRelay uses Bluetooth Low Energy, which is completely independent of WiFi and cellular data. It works in airplane mode, offline, or anywhere — as long as Bluetooth is enabled on both devices.
What are the system requirements?
macOS 13 (Ventura) or later, and Android 10 or later. Both devices need Bluetooth Low Energy support, which is standard on all modern Macs and Android devices.
Is ClipRelay free?
Yes, ClipRelay is completely free and open source. There are no ads, subscriptions, or hidden fees. Pro features like rich content transfer may be offered in the future, but the core clipboard sync will always be free.
